If you have some previous drawing experience and you want to learn to draw portraits of your family and friends, this Portraiture and Figure Drawing Workshop is for you. Local artist Mei-Ling Ellerman will introduce figure drawing, with a particular focus on portraits. Students will learn how to draw facial features, how to figure out proportions, and how to draw the subtle nuances of faces from different angles. The course will include: classes on figure drawing, facial features, frontal portraits (self-portrait), profile portraits, ¾ profile portraits, and children’s portraits. Mei-Ling offers support and individualized feedback throughout each class, which will help you hone your ability to accurately observe the drawing subject and improve your own drawings. Students will have the opportunity to draw a portrait of their own choosing, such as of a family member, and can see how far they have come!
